The best thing about fishing around Cayman is the proximity to the drop-off around the Island. In many locations around the world you will need to spend 1 to 2 hours just getting to the fishing grounds but in Cayman it is always less then 10 min after leaving the dock!. The reason for this is that Cayman is surrounded by some of the deepest water in the world, namely the Cayman Trench which is 25,216 feet (7.65 KM) deep. The barrier reef surrounding the whole Island is only 500 – 800 feet from shore which makes it a breeze to reach the deep waters to start fishing.
CAYMAN - DEEP SEA FISHING
Set out to the barrier reef surrounding Grand Cayman and fish some of the Caribbean’s best fishing spots. When you arrive at the outside deep waters of the barrier reef the crew will put out 6 to 8 rods with lures or dead bait on them. These lures and baits will then be trolled along the drop off or in the deeper waters depending on which fish you are targeting. During this time “trolling” the boat will move between 6 to 8 knots and the crew will keep an eye out for birds, free jumping fish or even debris in the ocean.
Our expert skippers will offer tips on how to fish and then it's your turn to test out your skills. Whether you're a novice fisher or an experienced angler these trips will be enjoyed by all. The trips are usually offered as 4 hour or 8 hour charters but most boats can customize this according to your needs. You can also combine different activities such as snorkeling, Stingray Sand Bar, Starfish Point or sightseeing to this trip.
Our crews all have many years of experience fishing the Cayman waters and our boats are equipped with the highest quality rods, reels, downriggers, outriggers and electronics. Many fishing records have been caught aboard these boats. When deep sea fishing, we target Blue Marlin, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi and Tuna.
CAYMAN - REEF FISHING
Settle in as your experienced skipper cruises you out to a shallow reef just off the shore, where you'll find some of the best fishing spots around. Fish for grouper, snapper, Ocean Turbot and more. The Cayman waters here are brimming with plentiful marine life.
CAYMAN - 12 MILE BANK AND 60 MILE BANK
These banks are located as their name says either 12 miles or 60 miles from Grand Cayman and will take a while to get to. Most boats will offer trips to these banks as an option but in the case of 60 Mile bank you will need a min. of 14 hour charter. The easiest bank to get to is 12 mile bank and you are nearly guaranteed a good catch if going there. The bank consists of an underwater mountain that comes up to a depth of 80 feet from the surrounding waters of over 5000 feet deep. The banks are famous for their large Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo and Marlin.
